Disordered loops in the two - dimensional antiferromagnetic spin - fermion model
The spin-fermion model has long been used to describe the quantum-critical behavior of 2d electron systems near an antiferromagnetic (AFM) instability. Recently, the standard procedure to integrate out the fermions to obtain an effective action for spin waves has been questioned in the clean case. We show that in the presence of disorder, the single fermion loops display two crossover scales: u...
متن کاملThree-dimensional antiferromagnetic CP models
We investigate the critical behavior of three-dimensional antiferromagnetic CP (ACP) models in cubic lattices, which are characterized by a global U(N) symmetry and a local U(1) gauge symmetry. Assuming that critical fluctuations are associated with a staggered gauge-invariant (hermitian traceless matrix) order parameter, we determine the corresponding Landau-GinzburgWilson (LGW) model. For N =...
متن کاملAntiferromagnetic O(N) models in four dimensions
We study the antiferromagnetic O(N) model in the F4 lattice. Monte Carlo simulations are applied for investigating the behavior of the transition for N = 2, 3. The numerical results show a first order nature but with a large correlation length. The N → ∞ limit is also considered with analytical methods.
متن کاملBulk and surface phase transitions in the three-dimensional O4 spin model.
We investigate the O(4) spin model on the simple-cubic lattice by means of the Wolff cluster algorithm. Using the toroidal boundary condition, we locate the bulk critical point at coupling K(c) = 0.935 856(2), and determine the bulk thermal magnetic renormalization exponents as y(t) = 1.337 5(15) and y(h) = 2.482 0(2), respectively. The universal ratio Q=m(2)(2)/m(4) is also determined as 0.914...
متن کاملMatrix model formulation of four dimensional gravity
The problem of constructing a quantum theory of gravity has been tackled with very different strategies. An attractive possibility is that of encoding all possible space-times as specific Feynman diagrams of a suitable field theory as it happens for the matrix model formulation of two-dimensional quantum gravity (see for example [1] and references therein). In the perturbative approach to the m...
